Questions, problems, conclusions

We came back from our vacation. Five families, seven children between the age of 6 month and 3.5 years. Although we did not deal too much with our Tribe21 project, some things become more clear then before.

It was quiet conspicuous, that everyone was talking about the possible problems not the opportunities. Maybe the way to the solution leads through defining and solving those problems.

Some of the arisen questions/problems:

- Where should we choose the plot?

It would be nice to live in a beautiful environment where you can just bite the air and smell nature, but then the children could not get to school very easily and also we would be separated from our relatives (mothers, fathers) who live in Győr or near it.

- What happens if someone would like to quit from the community?

statistically 50% of the participating families will divorce. I hope that this will not happen to any of us, but it can not be assured.

If someone wants to leave the community ofcourse she/he can not bring his house on his back, but has to sell it but then we will get strangers in the middle of our fellowship. Conclusion is, that every house has to be detachable somehow.

- Size of the tribe was also discussed.

Some of us wants to live rather in a smaller company, while others would not define the final size or even keep it high. Personally I would prefer the number of around five families, because it's small enough to keep the trust and friendship, but there were other opinions. I hope they will get blogged.

Theoretically everyone agreed that the idea is good, but we still have to work a lot before realization can begin.

Vacation + Brainstorming

We will move to Fertőd for a week of holiday with five families. The one we had last year was very funny, especially for our children. Since our community idea is getting more and more serious, we will also have som brainstorming sessions regarding this topic Again the questions, where, when, who and from what resource.

I hope, that at the end of the week we will have a more clear vision about Project EDEN.

Who am I?

Hi, I’m one of the cofounders of tribe21. At the age of 29 I work for an automobile company, living in a mite flat in a tiny town with my beautiful wife and a small daughter. I manage supply chain projects at the office, I’m a sportsman and I’m planning and „developing” the future with my friends.

I had two choices.
The first one is to take my family, leave the city and to build a house in a „green” environment and create good conditions for them. Could work anywhere, but should leave my friends in the city.
The second one is to stay in the city. Work anywhere and have my friends, until they move away.

Both of them are unattractive.
So I decided to search for the highest bidder for me, for my family, where I can express myself and my life is my creation. With my friends together.

The main purpose of this blog is sharing our experiences and also to generate revenue to help us building our community. Ideally would be to have so much visitors, that we should not turn to any bank for credit :). Well let's see.

I've created an AdSense account to monetize our project. I think I am allowed to share the monthly revenue from our AdSense account, which I will do regualry and I will also inform you, what this revenue will be spent on.

Building our community has many aspects where we can publish our toughts and the various issues coming into our way. Aspects like project management, the buildings architecture, ecosystem, financial problems, further energy consumption optimization, society and so on.

Since we have many kinds of people in our company, you will encounter different viewpoints on these topics which is the main point of this blog. We will introduce ourselves later on so you can see, who is interested in which aspect.

So far we had some discussions from a birdview perspective, since ten or more people (5 families, children do not count, since the oldest is 3 years old) has to meet a common agreement on the main issues, before we can plan anything specific. Issues like where should we build, what should we build, when to do it and how do we get the money for that.

The discussions will follow and we will let you know our toughts, concerns and final decisions.

Project EDEN

Yesterday evening we have decided to start documenting our Project, which is about buliding a community park.

Altough the final number of participants is not set, we will start to plan the project with five families. We know each other more or less and so far there is a good relationship or even friendship between the families.

Not every family has children, but most of us have and since we all are around the age of 30, hopefuly we all will have more. The original idea of our community park is to allow our children to grow closer to nature and to each other, rather then being "alone" in a city enviroment.

Every family is living in different parts of Győr, Hungary in his own property, and in every case we pay mortage. Our flats are tipicaly small/midsize so they do not worth too much, but somehow it should be enough to at least start.
